YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM “TAMKEEN PROJECT” implemented by Ajyal association in partnership with the Swedish development partner IM (2020-2023).The project’s overall goal is to contribute to social and economic resilience building of youth in Gaza Strip to exercise their career choices and reach their social life potential through social and economic empowerment tools. The project supports Palestinian youth aspirations to move away from the hostile political climate and feeble economic situation by focusing on building skills and capacities that respond to their ambitions, market opportunities, and community’s expectations. Since the proposed approach for implementation will provide opportunities for social and economic resilience of youth in Gaza Strip by using the tools of capacity building, incubators, civic engagement skilling.

All the proposed interventions are in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (Leaving no one behind) which focuses on social and economic resilience, as its contribution will result in an enabling environment for economic growth and decent work opportunities (SDG 8), reduced poverty (SDGs 1), as well as reduced inequalities and social empowerment (SDG 10), especially for vulnerable groups. The pillar also includes the creation of social and economic innovative and entrepreneurial initiatives for youth in Gaza.
The project adopts an area-based approach, with contextualized interventions for Gaza.
